Who we are
This website is run by OVBO India Pvt Ltd under the Shft-in brand (“we”, “us”). We are the data fiduciary for personal data you give us here, under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect, and why

We record when you gave consent and which version of this notice you saw. We also keep a one-way scrambled form of your IP address to stop spam and repeated submissions; we cannot turn it back into your address.
We use your details only for the purpose of the form you filled in. We do not use them for marketing, we do not sell them, and we never pass them to brokers.
Who can see it
Our sales and operations staff, and the service providers that host this website and its database for us, under contract and only to run the service. We disclose data to authorities only where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are deleted 365 days after we receive them, unless you become a resident. Then your details move to your tenancy records, which have their own retention rules set out in your agreement.
Cookies and browser storage
We set one cookie, which keeps forms secure and is deleted when you close your browser. It is strictly necessary, so we don’t ask for permission. We use no advertising or analytics cookies.
If you save homes to a shortlist, that list is kept in your own browser’s storage and is never sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Your rights
- Ask what personal data we hold about you and how we use it.
- Ask us to correct, complete or update it.
- Ask us to erase it, and withdraw your consent. It takes one email, as easy as giving it.
- Nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you are unable to.
- Complain to us, and if you are not satisfied, to the Data Protection Board of India.
Write to our Grievance Officer at privacy@shftin.com. We reply within 7 working days and resolve requests within 30 days.
Age
Our homes and this website are for adults. Please don’t send us details if you are under 18.
Security
The site runs over an encrypted connection, forms are protected against forgery and automated abuse, and staff access to enquiries is password-protected.
Changes
If we change how we use your data, we will update this notice and its version number. We won’t use data you already gave us for a new purpose without asking again.
